First, lets get something straight: Knowgenie.com is not a traditional article system. Knowgenie is an online magazine that features articles that are helpful, informative, and serve a purpose.

Knowgenie articles (we call them “knowbits”) should either give readers helpful advice that fits within any of our categories, or detailed “how to” instruction on how to do something (surprise!)

How to submit your article

That said, if you have an article that you want included in knowgenie.com, that’s great! Use the form below to submit your original knowbit. All knowbits are reviewed in the order they are received, and typically are reviewed within 48 hours. However, the process may take longer if more articles are in the submission queue.

Editorial Guidelines

As mentioned, knowbits on knowgenie provide valuable advice to people in virtually any category. Your article must provide value to the reader AND not be a blatant plug for your site or service.

1. No user account is required to submit an article.
2. All knowbits must have a title that accurately describes the body of the article.
3. The title may not mislead the reader as to its content. However a good title entices people to click your article
4. There is no minimum or maximum to the body of your knowbit.
5. You may insert a bio box directly in the body of the knowbit. We recommend at the bottom, or end. However, no more than 2 links may be included.
6. You may not link directly to an affiliate site/opportunity.
7. You may not link to any site that is considered defamatory, illegal, or adult in nature (i.e. pornography)
8. You may externally link to pictures with html (include an image tag pointed to your site.)
9. In the body of the knowbit, you may designate anchors with the “a href” tag. All URLs will be automatically linked. No other HTML is allowed.
10. Javascript is not allowed.
11. Your email / name will not be published unless you specifically include it in the body.
12. We reserve the right to reject a knowbit due to content or violation of our terms of service. You will receive an email notification when this happens, and be given the chance to correct the article.
13. We also reserve the right to make editorial changes (edits) to the article or category selection. For example, any links after the alotted two will be removed.

Tips for submitting good knowbits

• As mentioned numerous times, good knowbits teach something, or provide solid advice. The best knowbits assume no prior knowledge and start at the beginning
• Separate long articles into parts, and submit each one as part of a “series”
• All articles will get a space on the homepage for a period of time, no matter what the article is. They are bumped from the homepage when newer articles are submitted
• Good, quality articles are selected by our editorial staff to be “featured” or the “headline” story. You can improve your chances of this by submitting high quality, original, interesting and relevant knowbits.  You may recommend an image (through the img link tag) however it will be cropped / sized accordingly.
